Although it is unknown the exact origin of the tradition, no doubt, is very old and seems to go back to an offering to the Celtic deities and Togotes aricona. Later with the arrival of the Romans, the "munda cerealis" offered to the Goddess Ceres coinciding with the arrival of spring. The rite was christened, and in 602 AD Liuba II the Visigoth king gave the town the image of the Virgen del Prado , which since then offerings are made.
